It is amazing the competition these days around the United States for onsite car dealership lot washing. As the founder of The Car Wash Guys and now retired, often I get emails asking specific questions about the mobile car wash market. Recently someone out there in Sunny Southern California asked what he might charge a new car lot customer with 60-80 cars.
Well, it depends on weather in most markets although in Southern California the weather is always pretty decent. Of course when it rains, yes it even rains in Southern California, especially on El Nino years there are things to think about. So, I asked the gentleman which market he was in so I might give him some advice on how much he should charge.
He was in San Diego County so: I would say in your area you might need to charge $1.30 per car. Of course there is significant Hispanic Mobile Car Wash Companies bidding the price way down under $1.00 per car. Also being an Auto Detailing Company too one consideration is to attempt to get the in-house wholesale detail account for new car preps and/or used car detailing, etc.
