One of the newest additions to Audi's line of luxury vehicles is the Audi A5, a two-door sport coupe. Originally introduced with a standard six-cylinder engine, the A5 has received a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine for 2010. The new 2.0 liter engine produces 211 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, compared to the 265 horsepower 3.2 liter V6 with 243 lb-ft of torque that was the only option for the 2009 A5 and remains an option for 2010. Both engines can be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, while the four-cylinder also has a six-speed manual option.

The new four-cylinder engine, called the 2.0T by Audi, also provides better fuel economy than the V6. With a manual transmission, the 2.0T is EPA rated for 22 mpg in the city, 30 mpg on the highway, and 25 mpg combined. The automatic transmission drops the fuel economy to 21 city, 27 highway, and 23 combined. The six-cylinder engine improved in fuel economy over the last year; it now is rated for 18 city, 27 highway, and 21 combined (compared to 17/26/20 for the 2009 model). With a 16.9 gallon fuel tank, the 2.0T manual has a range of 422.5 miles, while the 2.0T auto can go 388.7 miles between fill-ups and the V6 is good for 354.9 miles.

One of the highlights of the new 2.0T engine is its impressive torque. It produces more than the V6 engine, and it peaks very low in the car's RPM range. The 2.0T gets to 258 lb-ft of torque at just 1500 rpm, which has left reviewers in awe of the driving experience. Great performance is a requirement for this car, as Audi has stiff competition in this segment from the BMW 3-series and the Infiniti G37 coupe, both of which have more powerful engines.

Thus, since the Smart ForTwo car has a fuel tank capacity (including 1.3 gallon reserve) of 8.7 gallons, and the Smart Car Gas Mileage (MPG) is about 40 miles per gallon, you can squeeze about 350 miles before the next station visit (trying to sound "English"). Smart ForTwo Car speed is regulated, and is limited to approximately 90 miles per hour (MPH). If you want to race your neighbors, guaged in 0-60 acceleration in approximately 12.8 seconds. It takes about 3.5 liters of oil, including filter. It seems to have five wonderful "automated manual" transmission gears, however! You can place Samrt FourTwo transmission in fully automatic car, or you can use the gate OPN plus / minus the gearshift.

From what I understand, the "automatic" mode gives passengers (notice, "passengers" only single in "FourTwo") and the driver enough experience. It's a bit jerky, is what I say. I have read an article saying, "What that means is that you encourage ForTwo like you would a regular automatic, but the transmission lurches through gear changes with the awkwardness of learning sticks on her sister's Corolla 15 years." New Mitsubishi 3 Cylinder 10 Liter Engine Smart Car

Mitsubishi Motors has developed two new MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control) aluminum cylinder block engines including fuel consumption 660cc three-cylinder-model with increased power and a decrease of its predecessor.

Mitsubishi will use the new machine in two new vehicles scheduled for introduction in the Japanese domestic market this fiscal year end.

The new concept minicar i, scheduled to join Mitsubishi's lineup in January next year, will use 3-cylinder MIVEC engine new 660cc. The new Outlander SUV, due to debut in showrooms this October, which will be powered by engines of new 2.4-liter four-cylinder MIVEC.

In addition to the control valve timing and a block of aluminum (which gives 10% weight reduction), the new engine also uses the following to reduce the weight, size and cost, and to provide more power and fuel economy better:

• 4-valve direct-drive valvetrain
• Timing chain
• Resin components (including the intake manifold, headgear)
  
• Rear exhaust engine mounting layout
  

New 3-cylinder, 660cc turbocharged engine provides 47kW (63 hp) of power. With variable valve timing, fuel is expected to increase by 15% eceonomy the mini-car unit today, and to obtain a 3-star LEV rating for emission levels 50% cleaner than Japanese 2005 Low-Emission Vehicle requirements.

With the midship location and 45 degrees tilted back, the new engine allows a greater flexibility in developing the front end and also a longer wheelbase.

New four-cylinder 2.4-liter MIVEC engine that will be a major generator Mitsubishi Mitsubishi-use intake and exhaust ports of cylinder head design and the intake / exhaust system with dual-wall stainless exhaust manifold and high-performance catalytic converters.

New 2.4-liter engine provides 5% increase in power over the 2.4-liter MIVEC engine today along with fuel economy 5% better than Japan's 2010 standards fuel economy.

Design base 2.4-liter MIVEC engine was developed through the project Engine World alliance between Mitsubishi, Chrysler Group and Hyundai Motors.
